Woo Hoo, I'm on a roll! Tonight's shoot was very impromptu. I have been wanting to get some new shots of the kids for quite a while, but there either hasn't been enough time or the weather hasn't been right. After a dull day out today I opened the front door to let some light in as I was cleaning the floors and saw some decent light so I ran to change the kids clothes and threw them in the car to find a good spot and see what we could get. Turns out I was kinda wrong about the light. It was really orangeish and just plain weird. The sun was also setting quickly so every shot has a different feel to it. The kids skin tones are all over the place and definitely need more work but I wanted to get my second consecutive post in tonight and look at them again with fresh eyes tomorrow.
On another note...I don't like shooting my own kids. Chase is practically impossible right now and Marissa is constantly worrying about what he is doing and if he is looking at me so when he finally is for a brief second....she isn't. What's that? You say you would never know it by these photos? Well I am dying to post some of the "out takes" from this session, but for whatever reason I have a screaming, tantrum-throwing two year old still awake at almost midnight, so we are going to go snuggle in mama's bed and try to get some Zzzz's. May include them in tomorrow's post though. (See how optimistic I'm being that there will be a post tomorrow?). :)
