Ugh. The bedtime routine seems to be getting longer and longer. It used to be that the kids always seemed to get to bed a little later than what I wanted their bedtime to be. Now it seems like they are getting to bed a little later than what I want MY bedtime to be! If stalling and distracting me from accomplishing a decent bedtime was a sport they would both be gold medalists for sure. Tonight I decided if you can't beat 'em, join 'em and since I hadn't taken a photo yet for today (or yesterday- shame on me) I turned the whole ordeal into an opportunity. So here we are playing around with Marissa's (an my) reflection in the faucet, the kids being both silly and sweet with a bathtime smooch, and finally modeling their new jammies. I would love to say that bedtime came shortly after that last shot (which was taken much later than when they should have been in bed anyway), but tonight's agenda included 20 minutes of Marissa's new movie and then her coming downstairs crying because she was convinced the moth that was in her room this morning was still in there and going to eat her. In the process she woke up Chase who I was just getting ready to carry into bed so we all ended up in her bed. Luckily I had my Kindle so I read until they both finally passed out. Now none of the things I was hoping to do before I went to bed have been done and all I want to do is sleep. Funny how when you are young it is the last thing you want to do but people MAKE you do it and then you grow up and it's all you want to do, but no one ever seems to let you do it.
