I don't know if it is just a coincidence or not, but with Chase's birthday coming up on Sunday I have noticed him growing up so much this week. Today he wanted to read. He loves books and I am very happy about that because for some reason, maybe because I already had one child who loved reading and was very good at it or maybe because he was a boy and most of the men in my life have not been big on reading, I had always assumed he would be the one I would have to force to read and do his reading school work when the time came. He was frustrated that he couldn't do this on his own while I was doing my housework so I showed him how he could look at the pictures and try to figure out what was happening in the story. Because we have read most of our books several times, once he started doing that I actually heard him saying the words to the book out loud because he remembered them from the pictures. Pretty cool.
