This probably looks slightly familiar because 1)Well...it's the moon (duh) and 2) I took some full moon shots the day my zoom lens arrived on my doorstop. They were fun and kind of cool, but looking back- not great. It was really cold that night which didn't help, but my settings could have been better too.
I have been in a bit of a funk mood-wise lately and today was an exhausting day. Tonight wasn't much better and I was sooooooo close to saying "forget the photo and the blog" for the first time. BUT I know that there have been other times that it just seemed like too much effort to find something to shoot and to blog and those have turned out to be some of my favorite photos. I remembered noticing how bright and cool the moon looked earlier this evening so, although I was disappointed that it wasn't a very original idea, I decided to go try a few shots and see what happened. Once again I am soooooo glad I forced my tired brain and body to do this. Big improvement. I LOVE this shot. Love how you can see all of the texture of the craters on the top edge. Love the starburst patterns. Just love it.
Just for my own reference and for my "photography friends" who might be interested here are my settings:
SS 1/500
f/5.6
ISO 100
Shot w/ my 55-250 @ 250mm.
Zoomed in a bit in PS, upped the exposure just a hair, and converted to jpeg- otherwise no editing.
