Despicable Me

Gru would be jealous. I've got the moon! For those of you who haven't seen the movie, the main character wants to steal the moon. This is the current favorite movie in our home so it's what first came to mind. Anyway, the photography gods were smiling down on me tonight. I got home from work only to find a box on the front porch containing my new zoom lens! I purchased this lens now in hopes of catching some great shots of Marissa's first gym meet this weekend (guess what Saturdays blog will be about?), but had also seen some people get some good shots of the moon with it so I was excited to try for myself. I knew it was getting close to being a full moon because I had been paying attention the last few days in anticipation of my new lens but when I stepped outside there was no moon to be found. I settled on trying out some shots of the trails of lights from the traffic on the interstate. They were just eh. Then as I got ready to call it a night it got bright out and there was the moon! I started messing around, trying to find the right settings and just when I was starting to get close the clouds took over and just as quickly as it appeared, it was gone again. This shot was the best of the bunch. Can't wait to try again.
